Fequently asked questions
Can Physical Therapy be done at home?
Of course! While it's not recommended to do Physical Therapy on your own, you can definitely work with a licensed physical therapist from the comfort of your own home. In fact, the convenience and comfort of at-home therapy is exactly why Wellness Merge was created!
What does a home physical therapist do?
A home physical therapist provides the same care as a traditional physical therapist, but from the convenience of your home. They collaborate with you to manage pain, treat injuries or conditions, and improve your mobility and comfort. This involves a mix of educational guidance and targeted exercises designed to support your healing process.
How many times a week should you do in-home Physical Therapy?
The frequency of your Physical Therapy sessions depends on your diagnosis and the severity of your injury or condition. At first, you might need therapy two to three times a week to help speed up your recovery. As you progress and your therapist monitors your body's response to treatment, the number of sessions per week may decrease.
Do you accept Medicare Part B?
Yes! We may be a small in-home therapy agency in Lancaster, but we are proud to accept Medicare Part B plans. Your services may be covered.
How do I know if I really need PT?
Physical Therapy is beneficial for a wide variety of people, whether you're recovering from surgery or injury, working to enhance mobility, or looking to reduce pain. If you're dealing with discomfort, limited movement, or seeking preventative care, a consultation with one of our physical therapists can help you decide if PT is the right option for you.
What if I’m not comfortable with a stranger coming into my home?
We know how important trust is. That’s why our therapist goes through a thorough background check, holds the necessary credentials, and upholds the highest professional standards. Before your session, we'll send you detailed information about your therapist, so you’ll know exactly who to expect. Our priority is to offer effective therapy while giving you peace of mind.
How do you ensure safety while having someone in my home?
Your safety and comfort are our highest priorities. All of our therapists adhere to strict safety guidelines and are trained to maintain a professional and respectful demeanor. To further ensure transparency and security, we provide you with detailed information of your therapist ahead of time.
